Answered prayers, my wife came back home today; after spending most of this month with the Grandchildren in New Jersey. That means, that I have been Home-alone. Not totally alone, because the Grandchildren that live fourteen minutes away; or one of their parents would come over once or twice each week. On Thanksgiving and Christmas they pick me up; take me to their home and feed me a delicious meal. After dinner I help with the five year old’s lesson, then someone would bring me home. On Christmas I was picked up around 2:pm , tools in hand; because the Five year old called and requested that I show up with my tools, because the toys had to be assembled; and Mom nor dad could do it. I finished most before dinner, with just two to complete after dinner. Then I opened my presents.
Now I have proof that as my three Childrens get older, they are less alert. For this reason, a week before Christmas my wife told us to drive her car because it would be in the garage for a month; so they took the car, drove it maybe twice and put it in their garage and put my son-in-laws’ SUV out in the parking area. On Christmas day after dinner when I finished the toys and got ready to come home I could have drove my wife’s car, but no one thought about it; so they drove me home. My Kids are getting old, but I could care less; MY WIFE IS HOME.

Just testing this program (Windows Live Writer) to see if all the menus work as planned. The first 3 things I listed after clicking the numbering menu is listed below:
- Border Security
- Pardon for Border Guards
- Find my medical records
Now I need to decide which one I would want to see resolved first. After considering for a few seconds, I selected, pardoning the Border Guards for Christmas. This is the first thing I want resolved; second would be Border Security and my medical records would be last. My reasoning, the most I can do for the Border Guards, is pray and write to my Congressman and Senator. The same is true with border security. While my medical records are in my area of responsibility. I can work on finding them any time my calendar is clear of other important duties.

Cold War Victory Medal LEGISLATIVE UPDATE
Updated: November 24, 2006
There are two stand-alone bills to create a cold war medal, one in the House and one in the Senate.
House bill H.R.2568 has 17 co-sponsors as of November 24, 2006.
Senate bill 1351only has three co-sponsors to date.
As the congressional calendar is near an end, it is unlikely that there will be any concrete action on the Cold War Medal until next year. At that time there will be a “new Congress” thus mandating the re-introduction of this important piece of legislation before it can be acted upon.
Frankly, without broader demand from veterans and their loved ones, we do not see a bright future on this front. If YOU find this unacceptable then YOU must get involved and help us. Please continue to monitor this page (as well as the CWVA Forum) for updates as to how you may help.
THE ABOVE IS A STATEMENT COPIED FROM THE COLD WAR VICTORY MEDAL (SITE)
Now you know the truth!!

Listening to the young man on the news, stating that he know it is wrong to steal some one else’s identity; but “you have to do, what you have to do“. And looking back to the day the big march occurred; with all the flags from other countries, carried by people getting close to the camera demanding super-rights; above that enjoyed by us regular CITIZENS.
Compare that time to now, today, the pass week in cities, countries, and states, legislation were enacted that will decrease the number of illegal immigrants; in this Great Country with it’s door mat out 24/7 as long as you enter legally.
Credit for the needed changes; go to all the TV and Radio reports that is keeping the public informed and the Elected Officials feet to the hot fire ignited in the last election by the VOTERS. And yeoman reporting by the Great Blogs, posting on the subject daily.

Every thing I need to apply for; require a copy of my DD214. I have a copy in a folder on my Notebook, so I can print or fax it; which ever is best. I suggest that you print a few copies and mail to other relatives and ask them to file them with other important papers. This is your insurance against a fire or flood at your house or the(NPRC) building, where all copies of your records are stored.
The good news is this DD214 is all you need to apply for most benefits and services. Bad news? it will not aid you in upgrading your Awards, you need a report from at least two people who can vouch for your actions at the time you earned the Award. The National Personnel Records Center (NPRC) site will direct you to the site where you can file an application for upgrading your Awards. Knowing that my records are destroyed, I hope I can find letters, or any part of my records that will enable me to apply for an upgrade. It can be a letter some one wrote home to his or her Mother, and mentioned you; and your action that resulted in you receiving the award. You can file for your records by selecting NPRC in the Blogroll.

March 22,2006 I received a letter from the National Personnel Records Center (NPRC) and it stated the following in the first paragraph: “Thank you for contacting the National Personnel Records Center (NPRC). The record needed to answer your inquiry is not in our files. If the record were here on July 12, 1973, it would have been in the area that suffered the most damage in the fire on that date and may have been in the area that suffered the most damage in the fire on that date and may have been destroyed. The fire destroyed the major portion of records of Army military personnel for the period 1912 through 1959, and records of Air Force personnel with the surnames Hubbard through Z for the period 1947 through 1963. Fortunately, there are alternate records sources that often contain information which can be used to reconstruct service record data lost in the fire; however, complete Personnel Records cannot be reconstructed.
I applied for my records after I had completed a plan to cut the cost of my health expenses by using the VA facilities at the Louis Stokes medical Center, after my medical insurance increased to five hundred dollars per month; add car insurance and it exceeded my Social Security check each month. Also, I had completed my business plans and we got the business up and running. The first problem we had was with the equipment. The truth? The problem really were the operators, some did not like getting up at 2:30 in the morning, to adjust the Trunk-lines from the UK; so many calls did not get through.
After the phone conference on the week-end, I will submit and application to the Government for a business loan; State, Federal or both. At the same time, I will apply for all the business aid and support available to Veterans. An example, if a large company (say Fortune five hundred) get a Government contract for $100 million; they should make $10 million available as a sub-contract to veterans. My son and I are veterans, so I will apply for all benefits needed to leave my Grandchildren an on-going business. All information needed to complete the applications will be posted on this Site, including the names, phone numbers, and locations. Will I tell you what businesses we are investing in?. Yes, I will only give you the Web Site.

My promise in the last Post that it would be the end discussion on Medal and Ribbons are true, this Post is about the men that earned them. After the Armistice went into effect, combat continued in many area on the MLR (Main Line of Resistance). Many reports record over a 100 men died in combat after July 27, 1953; and they do not qualify for the ROK Korean Service Medal. Which is for service,25 June 1950 to July 27, 1953. Many Veteran and Vet. Organizations support the effort to get the cut-off date changed or a ruling from the people with that responsibility.
I will support the effort to get them included in with those of us who have or will receive this Medal and Ribbon. If you find the above information to be factual; and you can see your way clear: Please contact your Congressman. As time pass, I will update the information in this Blog, as needed.

The Korean War Armistice were signed, July 27, 1953. Just 17 days before my discharge from the Military in Camp Breckinridge, Ky. At the time of the signing, I was half way between Japan and the USA. The announcement came over the ship’s speakers, just as we crossed the halfway point. After arriving in the States, a Soldier from my Outfit, (187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team) at Camp Chickamauga in Beppu, Japan; but not in the same company, came on the ship behind me and arrived in Camp before I departed for home. Hunter, (the soldier) told me my Company, (Company “L”), returned to the Front Lines and in a fire fight, my Company Commander “Got-It”, meaning he was killed by enemy-fire along with others in Company “L”.
We looked at each other, then both looked, first down at the ground and then toward the Sky. I said a prayer without knowing if he were sure about the information. that’s why I looked Sky-ward. I think, Hunter looked, because the Sun in our eyes, was bothering me. I slowly walked away in one direction and Hunter went in the other, we both knew; not to talk about that any more, I never saw Hunter again.
