As the year came to a close, I considered what had been accomplished and yet had to be worked on. As I looked at the picture of Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, it done on me, we will not be bury at the same time, so I need to call and talk to someone because I want my wife buried next to me. This woman have been
sleeping next to me for over fifty-two years, you guess it! I want her near me after we are died. So I called, and nice lady identified herself and I started to talk: I need to get an understanding about procedures, I am a Korean veteran and I want my wife buried next to me–what if some one is on both side when my wife die? no, no, no, the lady said: “at the time of need, at the time of need”, that’s when you make the arrangements. Now I know, when I die, my wife will have to arrange to reserve two grave sites and bury me in one and the other will be reserved for her. And that’s a good thing.
When we discuss the choices for a grave site we had to consider the convenient for the living relatives–how safe is the area, can you get to the graveyard now that most or all the people have moved? Yes we make every attempt to bury our relatives in the graveyard they select, or where we feel they would like to be if the choice is unknown. That said, We should also consider the living-relatives, what if they wish to visit the grave and the neighborhood is full of cut-throats and killers?. Surely, you don’t want your relatives to entered that type of neighborhood.
The sites we are considering is 200 miles away on average, our family visit, on-average, once per year, the distance is just a one day trip. As for the died, we may well be Omnipresence, and maybe not, it is God, who will decide. The last thing to do, before we can make the final decision, is visit the grave sites, that we will do, once the weather is clear and without snow.

At the end of the last post, I stated that I had a meeting that coming Saturday, with a long time Associate, and some people he had been discussing a possible business with, during the last five or six years. He had made a comment, at the time we made the appointment: “There will be another one is that OK?” Thinking the “another-one” would be about the same business discussion I said yes and we ended the phone-talk. Saturday morning,9:am he arrived in a car with another gentlemen, and I invited them in, got to know the person’s name and made him welcome to my family-room. When the second gentlemen arrived I was quickly aware that I had agreed to two meetings—-Well he is here now, two birds with one stone.
The person that had planed to fly up from the South could not make it, so we had to put him on computer in the meeting. All I need to say about that is, what a way to save money and time. On the computer, he could ask questions, interrupt at any time, and just add to the conversation anything he deemed it to be useful. After the first two hours passed, discussing the business plan, I knew that I would try to help them to get started. Because this is a group of entrepreneurs with a plan to make money, but at the same time, it would help a large number of people that is qualified to work, have a good education and sometime the skills that is needed in the work place. Yet, they are hard to place, because they are disable.
Well here go my stay-at-home, work-in-the-yard and do research on the subject “How Man Create Problems for Himself. Because this is something I have had experience in implementing. The target-group is not the same as the target-group I funded, when I worked in an appointed position at the county level. That group had less education and were more disabled, therefore could not enjoy the chance for upward mobility, as much as the group this business will employ. Yet, they lived in the highest or the second highest income county in the State of Ohio. (88 counties in Ohio) So a group of concerned and caring citizens convinced the manufacturing and wholesale industrial in the area to help create jobs for the disabled, to give them some of the dignity and self-worth enjoyed by most of us. Some of the new employees could only count to–say twelve, yet could be employed. Because the local companies and the program managers had consider that handicap, and designed tubes or buckets that would hold only twelve bolts, or nuts, or washer, so that once the person put in as many as it would hold the other employee would take it and dump it in the container: it will be shipped in, and move it down the assembly line. Some assignments had to be pickup by a Love-one, taking it home, so the person could do the job, and then the Love one would drop it of at the work area. The local companies support the program because it benefits the community and saved them in salary costs. The county tried to put everybody to work, that could hold a job. This is not in detail, but just some of the procedures necessary, to give everyone the opportunity to work.

Land-line-phones, and face meeting, seem to be the best way to get to the agreements; that will put the best organization in place; to pursue the contracts and sub contracts; to sell produces and service to Federal, State and Local governments. Concern that a company which would depend on the government for its very existence, therefore would not be a good business model. This is what we considered.
One vote in the house or senate could end the business almost overnight. A change from the products or services we provide, could reduce the income and eliminate the capital needed for daily operations. A real and present concern for us to address.
Thus the assignment of duties, my son will recruit a lawyer, investment banker and an accountant. as a part of the officers to staff a Management company. I will find the products and service we can market to both the governments in this country, plus other customers here and abroad. Then, without any urge, void of any contact in the last five years, ( because I have been home or out of town) one of my associates called me about a business he thought I could help get up and running. Just the person I needed to speak with, because he market parts and barrings to China, therefore, He know the list of parts that can be legally shipped to China. His associate will arrive this weekend and we will meet on Saturday.

Two national cemetery and one state cemetery is located in Ohio. The state cemetery, Ohio Veterans Home Cemetery is located in Sandusky, Ohio and the National cemetery, Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery is located in Rittman, Ohio and the other one, Dayton National Cemetery, is located in Dayton, Ohio. Pictured above is our first course, we can change our minds once we visit the sites. Presently, all information is word-of-mouth and Web Site information. Both national cemeteries have space available to accommodate casketed and cremated remains.
Yes issues! always issues, so let me state up front, I believe this country is suffering from a heavy load of political correctness, at the same time making an attempt to be fair and just. Therefore when I apply for any benefit I make sure I know the rules by which I can qualify. Now I will be mindful of the wife and children that is without food and clothes, because the veteran died and she is unable to work.
My plans are to work with some of the veteran groups, in Ohio I met a group of Rakkasans (Paratroopers) they asked me to join the organization, maybe I will, if their concerns are the benefits due veterans and their love ones. With the slow, but show progress I am making in my effort to restore my records, my needs are very few. The medical report last months from all my doctors are excellence. The same is true of my wife, we could both live for another twenty years. That will require exercise and healthy food, to stay active and mobile. To that end, I am in training, to fight Sugar Ray or Mike Tyson. I will take Mike, Sugar Ray hit you to many time in each round. Maybe I will post my picture in a boxing outfit this year, in honor of Veterans Day.

In the previous post, I discussed the need to get a place to be buried and start or increase my family businesses to insure a bright future for my Grandchildren. I also stated that I would record the results of my efforts for all to read. Therefore I will keep my word. Just one commitment from you, read my Disclaimer above!
The Place of Rest:
Yes, I called 1-800-827-1000 and talked to a person in New Jersey, I am in Ohio, Very willing to help, answered all my questions, no surprises. I had one last question: Can I be bury in the National Cemetery nearest me even if its in the State adjacent to me?. The Answer: call or visit the National Cemetery and tell them “I live in Ohio can I be buried in this cemetery?”. (substitute your state for Ohio) Understand! some cemeteries has a shortage of grave sites, some are down to cremations only. You can glean this information by research at the Veterans Affairs Site.
Business:
Mostly, I been on the phone with Sons and Daughter, discussing the best procedures to follow in selecting the products or services, we wish to market. Mean time, we have a comment on the post: Veterans Business and Benefits, from Ken Larson, Volunteer Counselor, with the Service Corps of Retired Executives,(SCORE). Please read the comment and click on SCORE in the Blogroll to visit his site. This is what I am reading each day alone with information I have compiled over the years. Hopefully this will give you additional information in your personnel planing.

Service and Business:
While reading about the types of programs that is available to qualified Veterans, it seem that every thing have been consider; and all unmet-needs can be cared for in benefits, businesses and burial. Personnel is in place to support the Veteran in any effort to improve the chances for a good life in this country. This give me hope as I continue my efforts to get the benefits I need and qualify for because of my military service.
My hope turn to sadness when I consider the number of Veterans I encounter in my daily life that have not benefited from the many programs that exist to improve his or her life. Yet, many die and the family must seek aid to bury them. Children are left without food and a place to live. One would think, some one would apply for a grave site in a veteran cemetery; and contact the local veteran office for any aid that is available to the wife and the children. All veterans should reports to the local VA office immediately after discharge, to determine the benefits and services available to them. Its not a gift!—you earned it!
At this point in my life, I need to apply for those benefits and services that will have a positive inpact on my life while I am living and make life easy for my wife when I die. This is what I will be working on for the next year. First I will seek a place to be interred. The grave site will have to accommodate both me and my wife. In the future, if I opt to be buried else where, my wife can still be buried in a VA national cemetery. Call this Phone number: (1-800-827-1000) to confirm your eligibility for burial and benefits or click on Veterans Affairs in the Blogroll to visit the Site.
Business:
Now I need to walk and talk at the same time: “The Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) was established in the Department of veterans Affairs (VA) to assist and support the interest of small business.” I need to apply for any and all benefits and services they can provide me, to enable my efforts to sell produces and services to the Cities, Counties, States and Federal Governments. The list of products on the site will help me find companies that I can buy from and sell to the varies government agents. Information I need to complete my plan can be obtained by contacting the Director, Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) Department. of Veterans Affairs. “This office is available only for the purpose of providing information , counseling, and guidance”. this is the information I need to put a plan in place that I can use to apply for contracts and Subcontracts to do business with the Federal Government. Click on OSDBU in Blogroll to visit the Site.

Because of my error, I am editing this Post. Yesterday when I attempted to publish, I failed after trying, using every Browsers installed on my computer. The Sad thing is, I wanted to include the Blog, where I read the article, in my Blogroll. After searching for two hours today I can not locate it. I will continue to look for it until I find it and give credit for a good article.
This morning while reading my lists of Blogs that I mark each day, I read about a man getting a jail sentence for wearing Ribbons, that some one gave him, but he did not qualify to wear. His membership in a Veteran Club at the time some one became aware that he wore Ribbon that he didn’t earned, and reported it to the Club. It is against the law to wear Ribbons not issued to you. Results, he had to appear before a Judge and received a find. Now he is saying He did not know he was doing wrong, by wearing Ribbons not issued to him. The Blog stated he is a War Veteran and have received some Medals and an Expert Rifleman Badge. Many Veterans in the Organization and the community are upset with him, because he dishonored military decorations. A veteran, in an organization with other veterans, failed to obey the law and had to appear in Court. A veteran, in an organization with other veterans, failed to obey the law and had to pay the price. “Because we are a Nation of laws, not a nation of men”.
It would be wonderful to get up tomorrow and the States and Federal Government had adopted these facts again, with any body disobeying our laws, including the illegal immigrants in this country; breaking its laws with support from many of it’s citizens. Is there a law against aiding a person in breaking the laws of this country?.

Every thing I need to apply for, require a copy of my DD214. I have a copy in a folder on my Notebook, so I can print or fax it; which ever is best. I suggest that you print a few copies and mail to other relatives and ask them to file them with other important papers. This is your insurance against a fire or flood at your house or the (NPRC) building, where all copies of your records are stored.
The good news is this DD214 is all you need to apply for most benefits and services. Bad news? It will not aid you in upgrading your Awards, you need a report from an Office or NCO. Or, at least two people who can vouch for your actions at the time you earned the awards. The National Personnel Records Center (NPRC) site will direct you to the site where you can file an application for upgrading your Awards. Knowing that my records are destroyed, I hope I can find letters, or any part of my records that will enable me to apply for an upgrade. It can be a letter some one wrote home to his or her Mother, and mentioned you; and your action that resulted in you receiving the award. You can file for your records by selecting (NPRC)in the Blogroll.
